History of the Institute

The Institute of Microbiology and Virology of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR was founded on January 30, 1956 on the basis of the Microbiology Sector of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (Resolution of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR No. 13 dated January 30, 1956).

On July 31, 2000, it was renamed into the Republican State Enterprise “Institute of Microbiology and Virology” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (certificate of state re-registration of a legal entity No. 24829-1910-ГП).

10/20/2006 renamed into DSE "Institute of Microbiology and Virology" RSE "Center for Biological Research" of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (certificate of state registration of a legal entity No. 81120-1910-GP),

On June 28, 2010 it was renamed into RSE "Institute of Microbiology and Virology" of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (certificate of state re-registration of a legal entity No. 81120-1910-GP).
