Relevance of the study
The rapid development of methods for increasing geological knowledge is impossible without the development of geoinformation technologies and microelectronics. Research in this area uses modern methods of computer processing of large amounts of Earth observation data, as well as methods of computational mathematics and artificial neural networks and machine learning. Currently, there are practically no obstacles on the part of field observation systems, including sources of physical fields. Therefore, the development of numerical methods for solving inverse problems of geophysics and the development of service software for converting digital data into geoinformation systems for visual interpretation of the results of geological surveys is relevant. The use of geoinformation systems helps to integrate and organize information about the resource potential of minerals and present them in a cartographic form that is easy to understand, analyze and manage, starting with a detailed survey of the developed deposits and conducting surveys on them.
The complex predictive-mineragenic model considered in the project, consisting of geochemical and geophysical parts and digital modeling by methods of inverse problems of geochemistry and geophysics, is aimed at regional geological study of the subsurface, namely the deep parts of the Earth's crust. These methods are especially relevant now for Kazakhstan, which has huge reserves of minerals, the extraction of which is an important task. The coverage of the geological study of the territory of Kazakhstan by deep geological, geological and mineragenic mapping is of the most important importance for the development of the geological industry. Also relevant is the task of exploration of new deposits instead of dwindling old ones.
In February 2020, the Concept of the State Program of Geological Exploration for 2021-2025 was discussed and adopted at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The scientific direction of this project corresponds to the MAIN objectives of the State Program, namely:
- to increase and increase studies based on the technological modernization of the industry using new interdisciplinary mineragenic models, new numerical information, digital forecasting methods and elements of artificial intelligence.
In 2007, at the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev, 5 national and engineering laboratories of engineering profile were created in national and regional universities of the country. These laboratories are material science centers for collective use for conducting fundamental and applied scientific research for various sectors of the economy, including geology and mineral exploration.
